There are number of streams in engineering. Civil engineering is one of these streams which is responsible for development. For the overall development of country and mankind in general, the infrastructure development is necessary. Civil Engineering stream is involved in the infrastructure development of country. Basically civil engineering is very vast stream which involves planning, designing, construction and maintenance of various civil engineeringstructures like buildings, bridges, roads, railways, airports, docks and harboures, tunnels , towers and transmission lines , dams, canals, water supply systems, drainage systems etc.
The institute started initially with three streams : Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics Engineering. The intake of Civil Engineering stream is 60 from 1990. From 1990, every year all the seats are being filled by meritorious students. The alumni of department has achieved very high positions in business, administration, education, service and even politics. At present number of students are doing their own business well. Number of students have been selected by MPSC and working at higher levels. Some of them are also engaged in politics and social works.
To develop competent and capable civil engineering students by providing them quality technical education for fulfilling basic human needs of the society as a civil engineer
